Water and Waste Water Treatment Plants

Control systems for Water and Waste Water Treatment Plants have been our primary revenue stream.  Many hours of development, design, programming, training and start-up have been invested by AI.  We are expert in the field and have worked with several clients in many different business arrangements to meet our clients needs.

Key Benefits

bulletWe have over 20 years of experience of engineering in the pacific Northwest.
bulletResister Professional Electrical Engineer in Washington and Oregon State.
bulletHave a large experience base water control and SCADA projects.

Capabilities
We are experienced and capable of all types of utilities, water treatment, waste water and water monitoring and controls projects.  Review our projects list for detail experience.

Project Experience

MCAS Water Supply Pump Station Modernization
Marie Corp. Air Station, Yuma, Arizona - System Integrator
MCAS modernized the water treatment plant by adding new VSD pumps and PLC based control system to maintain base water supply.  Responsibility included  project management of the control system, new PLC control panel and termination panel, design submittals, manuals training, startup, materials design, configuration, debugging and integration of Man-Machine interfaces to /PLC-based control system, for controlling all aspects of the wastewater treatment facility. Graphic screens were developed in Intouch Wonderware. Ending the project at 500 total Wonderware tag count. The project was set up to work through  a stand-alone-workstation. PLC programming was done with Modicon TSX Quantum with an Ethernet and Modbus Plus interface.

Kitsap Pump Station
Kitsap County, Kitsap, Washington - System Integrator
Kitsap installed a new pump  station to expand there ability to control their waste water management. The
project scope demanded the responsibility for controls and instrumentation for a new 5000 GPM  three pump, pump station. The pumps had a  vertical shaft and were variable seed drives, with multiple pumping sequences for lead, lag, and backup. Such safety requirements as a  backup generator, hazardous gas monitoring, chemical additives and radio alarm system were also needed12 graphic screens for an  Allen Bradley Panel view display terminal were developed using Panel builder 32  in conjunction with RSLogic for the AB PLC5/03,  PLC programming. AutoCAD was also coordinated to develop multiple drawings  for designing control panel and instrumentation. Submittals, testing, training, performance review, startup and documentation were all part of making this project clean and well done.

Gresham Waste Water Improvements
City of Gresham, Gresham, Oregon
The city of Gresham project required the integration of an existing Wonderware application into a new Wonderware application that doubled the size of the facility. Thirty new graphic screens were added and 25 existing screens were integrated into one application.  All integration was done online, maintaining operation of facility while adding new networks, PLCs and control systems.

 Longview Water Treatment SCADA
City of Longview, Longview, Washington - System Integrator
Developed 40 graphic screens on a single Wonderware control station connected to a TI-505 PLC to control the operation of city water supply.  Project also included alarm logging, automatic report generation, field checkout, computer setup, startup, training and project management.

Camas Waste Water Treatment Improvements
City of Camas, Camas, Washington - System Integrator
In the city of Camas project we were responsible for the design, configuration, debugging and integration of Man-Machine interfaces to /PLC-based control system, for controlling all aspects of the wastewater treatment facility. Graphic screens were developed in Intouch Wonderware. Ending the project at 1500 total Wonderware tag count. The project was set up to work through  5 distributed stations.  PLC programming was done with 5 Modicon TSX Quantum  PLCs. A  network had to be designed to accommodate the five stations, using a five hub Ethernet and Modbus connection the network worked without flaw. To wrap up the project we did a field checkout and gave some  startup training.

Bandon Water Treatment Improvements
City of Bandon, Bandon, Oregon - System Integrator
Here we were also responsible for the design, configuration, debugging and integration of Man-Machine interfaces to /PLC-based control system, for controlling all aspects of the wastewater treatment facility. Graphic screens were also developed in Intouch Wonderware. Ending the project at 800 total Wonderware tag count.

Silverton Wastewater Treatment Improvements
City of Silverton, Silverton, Oregon - System Integrator
As well here we were responsible for the design, configuration, debugging and integration of Man-Machine interfaces to /PLC-based control system, for controlling all aspects of the wastewater treatment facility. Graphic screens were also developed in Intouch Wonderware. Ending the project at 1200 total Wonderware tag count.PLC programming was done with an Allen-Bradley SLC504  PLC. To wrap up the project we did a field checkout and gave some  startup training.
