Project Experience
Grain Elevator Controls Improvements
United Grain Corp., Vancouver,
Washington - System Integrator
Responsible for redesign and
re-configuration, debugging, integration for Man-Machine interfaces to
/PLC-based control system. Remove old code and programming no longer used and
developed graphic screens (Intellution, 4 distributed stations) and PLC
programming (A-B PLC5-90s) to more fully automate common tasks of transferring
grain from ships to elevator and back to ships.
Palletizer and
Conveyors Control System Rebuild
Grays Harbor Paper Co., Hoquiam, Washington Project Engineer
Replace the control system for an automated box
palletizer, and conveyors and accumulator lines. Project included building new
control panel with Wonderware graphics control screens, AB PLC5/30 installation
and programming with remote I/O racks, CRT panel, and MCC. Short down change
over. Unlimited pattern selection, box tracking, product inter-mixed, error
corrections were some of the added feature.
Chip Screen Room Controls
Modernization
International Paper Corp, Reedsport, Oregon Elect. Project Engineer
Replace complete electric center, MCC, controls, wiring and conduits.
MCC's were replaced with GE-8000, PLC Allen Bradley 2/30 PLC was added.
Fully automated, one button control with many options.
Wood Chip Material Handling
and Storage
Longview Fibre Company, Longview, Washington, Project Engineer
Projects included; Automated Wood Chip Stacker with 3000 feet of conveyors,
switching gates, chip screen room and reclaim pit. Fully automated and controlled by a Honeywell ISSC Programmable Controller and had three redundant control points and moved
over 800 tons of chips per day. Barge Unloading Crane and conveyor system,
replaced a 13.8 kV transformer, revised and added new controls as required.
